The Antica Locanda La Diligence, is situated in Borgo Pace, in the Upper Valley Metauro the border with Umbria and Tuscany, land of another era, where today, as yesterday, the Inn is a place where to rest and unwind.
Surrounded by a nature still untouched, the coach offers its guests various opportunities and services:
After a hearty breakfast buffet consisting of homemade cakes and typical products of the place where the guest can enjoy the park with showers and Life of sulphurous water, play golf, mountain biking, visit the many art towns of the area as Urbino, Gubbio, Assisi, etc., in the evening, relax with massage and sauna, followed by an excellent dinner by candlelight, perhaps in the private room in front of the fireplace and enjoy traditional dishes, homemade pasta as once, grilled local meat, wild boar jugged, game and mushrooms, truffles in season, the king (the prized white truffle)
The atmosphere is friendly and respectful friendship.

History

Diligence is a structure of 1800, formerly called The Post, as it was a stop to change horses of the coach, before proceeding to the pass of Bocca Trabaria, arriving in San Sepulcher and Citta di Castello;
then managed by the legendary Bis Nonna Melanie, then by her grandmother Lucy, and finally by the great Rudolph and Ariella, that having restored, retaining the style and atmosphere, in 1970, renamed the coach, coming, then over the years to have great prizes, including one of the first Michelin star, awarded in the Marche.
Today, Alexander, Anna and Ariella, have further enhanced the Antica Locanda, with furniture, style, atmosphere and cuisine, really high levels.

We offer our guests the opportunity to stay in one of our three outbuildings, which are just 10 metres far from the main building. The three outbuildings, that have been made repairing old stone houses, rise in the old town, near the main square, and overlook the river Meta.

Double room, private bath, and living room

Daily cleaning;

Using a gym and mountain biking

Ristorante


The old inn’s restaurant is a very charming and romantic place where it is possible to have dinner by candlelight, and taste genuine local food in front of the beautiful eighteenth-century fireplace in the grandmother Melania’s little privè dining room, or in the podestà’s dining room, or in the main dining room. The owner of the inn: Ariella Sacchi is also a prize-winning chef and prepares delicious dishes based on local food:
omelette with mushrooms, mixed crostini, "piccatine" with melted cheese and walnuts, homemade pasta (tagliatelle, gnocchi, etc.), risottos, char-grilled local food, salmi wild boar, etc. Besides, in season, our menu comprises dainty white truffle, game, and mushrooms. We’ve also a select cellar and you’ll taste excellent wines. Open for lunch and dinner. Our guests can request the half board to have dinner tasting local food by candlelight.

Parco "Oasi Verde" - La Diligenza


The park is in the entrance to Borgo Pace that rises by the Meta’s riverside.
The parks looks immediately pervaded with deep harmony and quietness. It’s characterized by charming and beautiful foreshortenings that recalls very romantic places like English or French old gardens.
Just outside the built-up area of Borgo Pace, the streams Meta and Auro flow together in a level land and give origin to the Metauro, the historic river whose several fresh and sulphureous springs has been esteemed since the Roman age.
Nowadays, as a mark of the historical rule of the river, a lot of important archaeological finds are excavated just in these places.
In the “Oasi Verde” (Green Haven) park, a sulphureous spring feeds a lovely shower whose jet leaks from a seashell held in a little siren’s hand.
